The groundbreaking ceremony for the Qinzhou Qiaoqing Building was held at the Qinzhou Port area in the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) on Nov 11.
The building will provide a platform for exchanges and cooperation and for young overseas Chinese to start their own businesses.
It is the first of its kind invested by private enterprises in Guangxi to promote the innovation and entrepreneurship of young overseas Chinese and to attract more investment from overseas Chinese for the construction of Guangxi FTZ.
Li Kaichuang, the head of the united front work department of the CPC Qinzhou Committee said that Qinzhou is located in the center of Guangxi's Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and is at the forefront of China's opening-up and cooperation with ASEAN. The city is a major hometown of overseas Chinese in Guangxi and has more than 500,000 overseas Chinese in more than 40 countries and regions around the world.
Qinzhou has taken advantage of major development opportunities such as the construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and the Guangxi FTZ as well as a host of leading industrial projects with a total investment of over 250 billion yuan ($39 billion).
