Over 200,000 sweet-smelling osmanthus trees in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region have now begun to fully blossom, bringing a sweet fragrance to locals, Nanguo Morning reported on Nov 1.
"It has been raining these days and the moisture has made the fragrance stronger, which is very pleasant," said a woman surnamed Li.
Osmanthus flowers fell on the ground with the autumn rain, attracting a lot of visitors to take pictures of the splendid "flower rain."
Experts in forestry and gardening said that the first wave of osmanthus flower blossoms would soon come to an end due to the rain, but the second wave is expected as Guilin has lots of sweet flowering osmanthus trees that haven't blossomed yet.
