CATTC makes effort to train ASEAN talents

The 6th China-ASEAN Technology Manager International Training Session was held both online and on-site in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Nov 3, attracting 35 trainees from nine ASEAN countries including Brunei, Cambodia and Indonesia.

The 15-day event was held by the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology and was undertaken by the China-ASEAN Technology Transfer Center (CATTC).

Liu Hua, an official from the Ministry of Science and Technology, said that the training sessions have benefitted over 13,000 trainees in areas spanning agriculture, new energy and technology management since the ministry started organizing the training sessions 32 years ago.

Liu expressed his hope that trainees can make full use of the event as a platform to promote international scientific and technological cooperation and boost scientific and technological innovation.

Jian Xingchao, the deputy head of the Science and Technology Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, noted that being the only national institution in China carrying out technical transfer with ASEAN, the CATTC has devoted great efforts in serving innovation entities in China and ASEAN countries.

The trainees, which included Thin Thin Hlaing from Mynamar, Theresia Ningsi Astuti from Indonesia and Som Suor from Cambodia, all expressed their hope to learn more about technology transfer and transformation outcomes from China.
