A new sea-rail intermodal train route linking Wuhan in Hubei province, Qinzhou in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and Southeast Asia departed from Wuhan on Nov 1, easing trade for Hubei province.
The train was loaded with products such as yarn, dried mushroom and anhydrous sodium sulphate and will arrive in Qinzhou after two to three days before being loaded on ships heading to Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia. The whole process is expected to save around eight to 10 days from the previous trade route.
The new train route is expected to help solve problems of unsmooth, unstable and limited marine transport passage to Southeast Asia where the export demand for local Hubei products to Southeast Asia is surging.
It has made contributions to Wuhan's transformation into an international logistics transit hub and the further promotion of products made in Wuhan.
