Bama Forum boosts integrated development of traditional medicine, tourism industry

From Oct 12 to 14, the 2021 China-ASEAN International Forum on Traditional Medicine and Health Tourism, which is also known as the Bama Forum, was held in Hechi's Bama Yao autonomous county, the hometown of longevity in the world.

"Integrated Development of Traditional Medicine and Tourism Industry under Regular Pandemic Prevention and Control" was the theme of the forum. Approximately 250 guests attended the forum either on-site or online including officials and experts from China and ASEAN countries.

Zhang Xu, vice minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism suggested that China and ASEAN countries should strengthen international tourism cooperation under the regular pandemic prevention and control measures, and jointly promote the integrated development of traditional medicine and tourism industries.

Li Bin, vice chairman of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, said that Guangxi has attached great importance to the development of traditional medicine and health tourism. Relying on the abundant health tourism resources, Guangxi has gradually established a traditional medicine and health tourism industry system.

Li hopes to strengthen international cooperation in pandemic prevention and control with ASEAN countries, and jointly promote the integrated development of traditional medicine and health tourism industries.

The forum has achieved fruitful results. The suggestions and experiences shared at the forum will make positive contributions to the construction of the "China-ASEAN community with a shared future."
