Ouyang Shuo, a graduate of the Liugong Machinery Overseas Specialist Class at Liuzhou Vocational and Technical College, said his working experience in Malaysia has been difficult but worthwhile.

"The client's construction site was more than 300 kilometers away from the capital. When I traveled for more than six hours to reach the destination, I found that the construction site was just a village," he said.

"But I must provide users with best after-sales services and try hard to win orders. My school taught me those skills, allowing me to ride on the forefront of the Belt and Road Initiative and reap the excitement of life."

The Liugong Overseas Specialist Class is a talent training program tailored by the school for machinery manufacturer Guangxi Liugong Group. It has cultivated a large number of outstanding professionals to support its internationalization.

Liao Jihua, general manager of the parts division of Liugong, said through its school-enterprise cooperation and order-based training model, the company has cultivated a large number of talents with international vision and quality capabilities.

"With this cooperation model, the college, enterprise and students achieve a win-win situation."

Liu Zilin, Party secretary of the Liuzhou Vocational and Technical College, said the school adheres to the concept of serving regional industrial transformation and corporate globalization development. It implements the plan of "international leadership, six modernizations, connotation upgrades, and building a national first-class high vocational school with distinctive characteristics".

It has built in-depth cooperation with Liugong, SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile and other companies to promote professional competence standards, cultivate technical backbones that serve the global development of regional enterprises, and enhance the internationalization, transformation and upgrading of regional industries.

The college has also promoted the export of China's vocational education standards.

It has established an international exchange and cooperation platform to promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.

The school uses the "professional plus platform" cooperation model to build a community of shared future providing rail transit vocational education with open cooperation, diversified collaboration, and resource sharing.

One way is to take the lead in the formation of the China-ASEAN Rail Transit Vocational Education Alliance, which gathers 68 colleges, enterprises, and industry associations from China, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos and Malaysia. To build the foundation and serve the development of the railway industry in ASEAN countries as its fundamental purpose, it is a new mode of international cooperation in vocational education that develops together.

Another way is to use international cooperation projects as the carrier to integrate Chinese railway culture, traditional culture and ethnic characteristics of humanities and customs.

The school introduced the Canadian CBE model to reform the teaching model of the rail transit professional group and the ability-based practical teaching model. It also used the Canadian CBE model to make great progress in the reform of talent training, the construction of key majors, the construction of courses, and the construction of internal and external training bases. In 2020, the school was awarded the "Top 50 Influential Vocational Colleges in the Asia-Pacific in 2020".

It also cooperates with Beijing Jiaotong University to build the Beijing Jiaotong University-Liuzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College International Student Training Base to train international students from countries and regions involved in the BRI.

The school won the China-Thailand Vocational Education Contribution Award issued by the Vocational Education Committee of the Ministry of Education of Thailand for two consecutive years, in 2019 and 2020.

In January 2016, the school signed an agreement with the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry to establish the Liuzhou-Germany AHK Vocational Education and Training Center.

With the guidance of industry associations, the school's superior majors are selected as the carrier, with the deep participation of multinational companies, aiming at the development needs of overseas industries, and promoting the "four-party coordination" of industry associations, school majors, multinational companies, and overseas industries to cultivate and serve regional companies.

On April 2, 2019, the school received $60,000 from the Saudi Catani Group for the cooperation service payment of the Catani Academy, which means that the professional vocational education standards for the application of construction machinery will be applied in Saudi Arabia.

At the same time, it signifies the school has formed a characteristic demand side from international advanced standards. It has been promoted to be a supplier of vocational education standards to countries and regions involved in the BRI, and exports Chinese vocational education standards with the company's "going global".

Saudi Catani College is a university jointly established by the school, Saudi Catani Group and Guangxi Liugong.

The Saudi side is responsible for the hardware construction of the college, the school is responsible for standard output and student certification, and Liugong is responsible for technical support.
