The 2021 China-ASEAN Women's Forum was held in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from Sept 11 to 13, gathering more than 140 female attendees from China and ASEAN including officials, experts, scholars, entrepreneurs and overseas students.

Discussions were held under the main theme of the forum, which is "Women and Sustainable Development in the New Situation," putting forward that women can contribute a lot to the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and women will have more development opportunities in the sustainable development process.

The women's federations of domestic provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions including Guangxi, Hebei, Liaoning, Jilin, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Hainan, Sichuan and Yunnan signed a memorandum of cooperation on the action plan of the women's federation to jointly serve the BRI during the forum.

A long-term cooperation mechanism will be established among women's federations in areas spanning female entrepreneurs' cooperation and exchange, building of brands for public benefits as well as personal training.

The China-ASEAN Women's Forum, first held in 2006 in Nanning, has been held for six times. It has provided a new platform for women in China and ASEAN to share information and resources for win-win cooperation.
