The 3rd ASEAN Plus Three (10+3) Young Scientists Forum commenced both online and on-site in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Sept 9.

Sub-venues in Japan, South Korea and Thailand were set up for the first time, inviting young scientists from 10 ASEAN countries, China, Japan and South Korea to share opinions on sustainable development.

The forum was held by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and was undertaken by the Science and Technology Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the China-ASEAN Technology Transfer Center.

It was expected to promote the establishment of a communication mechanism featuring mutual benefits and mutual trust among young scientists in 13 countries to further inspire young scientists to continue scientific innovation.

Ruan Xiangping, an official from the Ministry of Science and Technology, said that the ministry will continue to support young scientists from ASEAN countries, Japan and South Korea to carry out scientific and cultural exchange activities in China, creating more research outcomes.
