The 2021 Beibu Gulf International Gateway Port Cooperation Summit of New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and China-ASEAN Port Cities Cooperation Network Forum took place both online and on-site in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Sept 11.

Guests from China and ASEAN countries including government departments, port management and operation committees, shipping logistics companies, business associations, transnational companies and financial institutes were invited to attend the event.

The summit, themed around "Jointly Building Beibu Gulf International Gateway Port and Opening up New Prospects for China-ASEAN Port Cooperation in the New Era," held discussions on two pressing issues, namely building a community of shared interests for ports in China and ASEAN and the high-level construction of the Beibu Gulf International Gateway Port.

The China-ASEAN Port Cities Cooperation Network, set up in 2013, has been devoted to carrying out all-round cooperation in sectors spanning port construction, port industry, marine communication and cultural tourism among port cities in China and ASEAN.
