The 9th Forum on China-ASEAN Technology Transfer and Collaborative Innovation is scheduled to be held in Nanning, capital city of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, from Sept 9 to 13, officials announced during a press conference on Sept 2.

Featuring sustainable development, this year's forum will include an opening ceremony, a young scientist's forum, an advanced technology exhibition and a themed matchmaking conference for advanced technologies between China and ASEAN.

The forum, being an international platform for scientific innovation and communication between China and ASEAN, will gather a host of experts and scholars to share their opinions, and the number of academicians invited to this year's event is set to hit a historical high including Shi Yigong and Zhou Chenghu, both academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The internet will be given full play during this year's event to break the geographical barrier due to the COVID-19 pandemic, putting events online such as the exhibition, forums and matchmakings.

The advanced technology exhibition, which focuses on the digital economy, sustainable development and biomedicine, will invite prestigious domestic universities such as Zhejiang University, Sichuan University, Wuhan University and Xi'an Jiaotong University to showcase more than 40 latest scientific outcomes.

The Forum on China-ASEAN Technology Transfer and Collaborative Innovation, first held in 2013, has formed a stable inter-governmental multilateral high-level exchange mechanism, becoming an important platform to showcase innovation outcomes achieved by China and ASEAN as well as noting positive results in pushing forward mutual innovation cooperation.
