China's Guangxi sees GDP up 12 percent in H1

The gross domestic product (GDP) of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region rose by 12 percent year on year in the first half (H1) of 2021, totaling nearly 1.18 trillion yuan (about 181.86 billion U.S. dollars).

According to official data, the industrial output of the region's key enterprises increased by 17.4 percent in the first six months of this year, said Tang Xu, deputy director of the regional statistics bureau.

In the January-June period, the added value of Guangxi's high-tech manufacturing industry grew by 8.1 percent year on year, while the output of new energy vehicles increased by 11.6 times year on year.

Tang added that Guangxi would continue to deepen supply-side structural reform and further promote high-quality economic development in the future.
