A delegation led by Danae Dholakia, the minister counsellor of the British Embassy in Beijing, visited the Administration of Sports of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on July 7 to carry out communications in sports industrial cooperation.

Li Ze, director of Administration of Sports of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, met with the delegation and briefed Guangxi's current developments and advantages in luring investment.

Li said that Guangxi has big market potential and board development space. A frontier area for opening up and cooperation with ASEAN countries, Guangxi is an ideal place for companies to invest in as they can further reach out to the ASEAN markets.

Li expressed his hope that the minister counsellor can help attract British companies in sports manufacturing, such as those producing cruise ships and sailboats so that Guangxi can develop a high-end manufacturing cluster for its sports industry.

He added that more cooperation is expected to be carried out in the future in areas such as football, outdoor sports and equestrian sports.

Dholakia said that outcomes have been achieved between the United Kingdom and Guangxi in various industries, and she expressed that the UK can contribute more to stadium design and engineering consulting at the National Students Games, which will be held in 2023 in Guangxi.
