Hoang Ngoc Vinh, consul general of Vietnam in Nanning, visited the former residence of Ho Chi Minh in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on May 14, and spoke highly of the friendship between China and Vietnam.

The former residence of Ho Chi Minh in Liuzhou is a two-storey brick-wood structure. The late Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh lived here in the 1940s.

Hoang paid homage to Ho Chi Minh by laying a garland next to his statue in the residence.

During Hoang's stay in Liuzhou, he also visited local leading companies such as Guangxi Liugong Group and Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor to carry out exchanges in the economy and trade.

Liuzhou is the closest industrial city in China to ASEAN and its total import and export volume with Vietnam stands at 947 million yuan ($147 million) in 2020, accounting for 4.1 percent of Liuzhou's total.

"Vietnam and China are connected with each other and have formed a precious friendship," said Hoang. "The consulate general of Vietnam in Nanning is willing to make contributions to the further development of cooperation in economy, trade and investment between Guangxi and Vietnam."
