A popular science picture book about the good hygiene habits that children need to learn to prevent themselves from getting COVID-19 is set to be published abroad, staff members from the Guangxi Science and Technology Publishing House announced on April 3.

Currently, the picture book's copyright has been promoted to countries and regions such as the United States, India, Nepal, Myanmar, Vietnam and Hong Kong to contribute to the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The person in charge of the publishing house said that the picture book provides knowledge about the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 and allows parents and children to learn more about the pandemic such as its route of transmission.

The book has also been included in the Accelerated Reader, a computer-based program that schools use to monitor pupils' reading practice and progress, helping teachers guide kids to books that are at their individual reading levels.

The program is now used by more than one third of schools in the US and more than 6,000 schools in the United Kingdom.

The Vietnamese version of the picture book, released by Vinabook JSC, a local publishing house, has been popular among Vietnamese readers.

Work to translate and publish the book has been moving forward in areas such as India, Nepal, Vietnam and Hong Kong.
