Liuzhou in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region launched China's first tourism route themed around Liuzhou luosifen, or river snail rice noodles, an iconic Liuzhou dish, on March 30.

Liuzhou's river snail rice noodles have become a hit online in recent years, and the production and marketing volume of packaged luosifen had exceeded 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) by the end of 2020. It has also become one of the most attractive aspects of Liuzhou for visitors from other areas.

The city will establish a distinctive industrial tourism route that allows tourists to visit a luosifen-themed cultural exhibition and the packaged river snail rice noodles production lines, in addition to trying out this local dish.

Tourist attractions such as Liuzhou Bailian Cave Science Museum, the luosifen industrial park of Guangxi Luobawang Food and the Luosi Street in Yaobu Ancient Town are include in the route, showcasing the historical origins of Liuzhou delicacy and the latest achievements of the industry.

In addition to the luosifen tourism route, Liuzhou has released a batch of excellent industrial tourism-based routes such as visiting the former sites of factories.

Huang Caiqiang, deputy head of Liuzhou bureau of tourism, culture, radio and television, said that integrating industry and tourism can let visitors get a taste of Liuzhou's industrial culture and help local companies promote themselves.
