Construction of major projects in Guangxi moves forward

An event marking the collective start or completion of 294 of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region's major projects for the first quarter of 2021 was held on March 30.

These projects, which have an overall investment of 236 billion yuan ($36 billion), cover various sectors spanning industrial transformation and upgrading, infrastructure, environmental protection, cultural tourism, big health and the modern service industry.

Apart from the main venue in Nanning, six sub-venues in cities such as Guilin, Fangchenggang, Baise and Laibin were set up. 

Guangxi has devoted great efforts towards pushing forward the construction of major projects. The region had made an overall investment of 111.2 billion yuan in major projects by February, starting construction on 433 projects and finishing construction on 118 projects.

An official from the Development and Reform Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region said that the region will strive to promote the construction of these major projects, in order to make more contributions to the high-quality development of the region.
