Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, will push forward the construction of 29 major projects over the next five years, as it strives to turn the city's comprehensive demonstration zone for cross-border e-commerce into a new passage for China-ASEAN commerce.

Nanning is the closest capital city in China to ASEAN countries, and an important hub city in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The city has been vigorously promoting the development of ASEAN-focused e-commerce, and the construction of a comprehensive demonstration zone for cross-border e-commerce in the city has been moving forward.

A logistics system for cross-border e-commerce between Nanning and ASEAN has begun to take shape, and cross-border e-commerce has become a new growth pole in Nanning's foreign trade.

Currently, Nanning operates 23 direct flights to ASEAN countries, and two charted cargo airlines heading to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and to Manila in the Philippines have now been put into operation.

Construction has been promoted on a batch of projects in Nanning - such as the second phase of the domestic public freight depot at Nanning Wuxu International Airport, the China-Singapore International Logistic Park, and the cross-border innovation service center of Southeast Asia's largest e-commerce platform, Lazada.

Currently, Nanning has established strategic cooperative relationships with major Chinese e-commerce companies such as Alibaba, JD and SF Express, and has attracted more than 80 companies to settle down in Nanning's comprehensive demonstration zone for cross-border e-commerce.
