Guangxi Zhaung autonomous region has created a 30 million yuan ($4.6 million) fund to boost the attraction of talents to Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and to support related projects in 2021.
The fund will be used to support the attraction and cultivation of talented personnel in the port and shipping industries, the employment of talents in cutting-edge areas to boost industrial development and the integrated development of Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangchenggang, as well as helping in the construction of the Beibu Gulf Think Tank.
To be specific, the fund will mainly support the following six areas:
Firstly, it will serve those talents dedicated to the integrated development of Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangchenggang. It will focus on supporting and accelerating the introduction and training of talents in high-tech and cutting-edge areas related to the development of the three cities.
It will also attract talents for the construction of the Beibu Gulf International Gateway Port, and support projects that train talents in gateway port construction and automated terminals.
The fund will be used to support talent recruitment for the New Western Land-Sea Corridor gateway hub and boost recruitment of professional talents in shipping transactions, logistics management and international trade, as well as domestic and foreign industry leaders.
It will serve the development of major industries and support talent innovation platforms as well as talent-production projects.
It will accelerate the construction of think tanks in the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and focus on supporting the construction of a new type of think tank, with independent research, extensive social influence, and recognition by decision-making departments.
It will be used to back up talent projects that are in line with the development strategy deployment of the country and of Guangxi - projects that are expected to receive the National Science and Technology Award, the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and the Outstanding Youth Fund.
Moreover, it will be used to help experts and scholars from the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone get selected as academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as the Yangtze River Scholars Award Program.
