Inland river port in Guangxi sees robust growth

The inland river port in Guigang City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, saw its cargo throughput increase by 30.9 percent year on year to 105.52 million tonnes in 2020, said the city's transportation bureau.

Guigang Port is in the middle reaches of the Xijiang River, a tributary of the Pearl River. It is one of the main inland ports in China.

During the past five years, Guigang port has invested more than 3 billion yuan (about 464 million U.S. dollars) to improve its infrastructure. Currently, Guigang Port has 155 berths, including two 3,000-tonne berths and 29 2,000-tonne berths.
