Muara Port Company Sdn Bhd (MPC), a joint venture company held by Guangxi Beibu Gulf Port Group, signed an agreement with the Brunei government on Dec 22 to take over the development and operation of the Muara Fish Landing Complex for 40 years.

Located in east Brunei, the Muara Fish Landing Complex covers a total area of 16.11 hectares and a costal line of 200 meters. Being the only public fishing terminal in Brunei, the port can accommodate 30 mid- or small-sized fishing boats at the same time.

It is expected that MPC will help increase the status of Bruneian fishing products in the global supply chain.

The Muara Fish Landing Complex will apply modern technologies and build advanced facilities, such as a smart information center, to provide real-time statistics and information with the help of big data.

It will take an active role in exploring a new development model integrating ports, industries, and industrial parks to optimize the supporting infrastructure including ice making, cold storage, oil supply, and water supply. 

Efforts will also be made in cultivating local talents to develop a sustainable and export-oriented development method.

中文合资开发文莱摩拉渔港 提升文莱渔业产品在全球供应链中地位

广西北部湾国际港务集团有限公司控股的文莱摩拉港有限公司22日与文莱政府签约文莱摩拉渔港项目，获得摩拉渔港项目40年的开发与运营权，将提升文莱渔业产品在全球供应链中的地位。

文莱摩拉渔港位于文莱东部，占地16.11公顷，岸线总长200米，可同时停靠30艘中、小型渔船，是文莱唯一的公共渔业码头。

据介绍，项目将引进现代技术，其中包括智能信息中心等新型设施，通过大数据分析提供实时统计数据和信息；积极探索“港口+产业+园区”发展模式，改善现有码头的靠泊条件，提升制冰、冷库、供油、供水等配套基础设施；并以培养本地专业人才为目标，拓展可持续、出口导向型的发展道路，带动文莱渔业增长，提升文莱渔业产品在全球供应链中的地位。

当天，文莱首相府部长兼财政与经济部第二部长拿督刘光明见证签约；中国驻文莱大使于红应邀出席活动。
