RCEP useful supplement to multilateral trade system: Premier Li
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said Tuesday that the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) has consistent rules with that of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and is a useful supplement to the multilateral trade system.
Li made the remarks while holding the fifth "1+6" Roundtable with leaders of major international economic and financial institutions via video link.
"The signing of the RCEP sent to the world a clear signal of firm support for multilateralism and free trade," the premier said.
According to him, RCEP is not only for the 15 countries that have signed on it, but also open and inclusive, and welcomes the participation of more countries.
"China stands ready to work with the international community to uphold multilateralism. We will join hands with all parties to build an open world economy," Li said.
