Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has taken the lead in China in launching an action plan to serve the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), Deng Shijun, secretary general of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangxi Committee, announced on Dec 11.

It is expected that companies' use of RCEP, as well as the free trade agreement (FTA) between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will be further bolstered, helping companies to expand their overseas markets.

The action plan has been significant to the promotion of free trade, as well as the stabilization of industrial and supply chains in the area, with the year 2020 marking the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area and the signing of RCEP.

The plan has put forward that Guangxi will make full use of the rich experiences and resources achieved in the issuance of certificates of origin (C/O) and the research of C/O regulations under the FTA to offer consultations for companies in areas, such as the tariff plan under the FTA in global production and marketing.

The region will also study and judge the COVID-19 pandemic situations in overseas countries, while playing an active role in following the FTA situations in foreign countries to better help companies adjust their overseas production.
