Intl forum on sustainable development commences in Guilin

The 2020 China-ASEAN International Forum on Innovation and Cooperation for Sustainable Development took place in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Nov 28, gathering more than 200 guests and experts to discuss pressing issues on the sustainable development of Guilin.

Attendees of the forum included Zhao Leqin, secretary of the CPC Guilin municipal committee, Cham Prasidh, Cambodia's minister of industry and handicraft, and Bambang Brodjonegoro, Indonesia's minister of research and technology.

The forum was jointly held by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, being one of the important high-end forums held under the framework of the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO).

Zhao extended a warm welcome to attendees and said that Guilin has been firmly adhering to its sustainable development strategy to bring more benefits to its residents.

A total of 13 projects on innovative cooperation were signed during the event, with an overall investment of more than 20 billion yuan ($3.04 billion), covering various areas spanning technological breakthroughs, platform construction, and achievement transformation. 

These projects are expected to produce over 50 billion yuan in economic benefits, pushing forward the construction and development of the national sustainable development innovation demonstration zone in Guilin.
