Gongcheng holds intl conference on health preservation

The Healthy China (Gongcheng) Health Preservation Meeting was held on Sept 24 in Gongcheng Yao autonomous county, Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, gathering nearly 150 guests, including government leaders, experts, and scholars.

Themed around health preservation, this year's conference aimed to promote the construction of a "healthy China."

Huang Junhua, vice chairman of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, expressed his hope that Gongcheng can grasp the historic opportunity in developing its health preservation industry to become a pioneer in the industry around the country.

Deng Xiaoqiang, Party secretary of Gongcheng, said that the county will further promote the integrated development of traditional Chinese medicine, western medicine, and ethnic medicine to bolster the development of the health preservation industry, making contributions to the construction of the healthy tourism demonstration base, as well as the establishment of Guilin as an international resort city.

A dialogue between China and foreign countries regarding building "a community with a shared future for human health" was held during the meeting. Consuls general of countries like Malaysia, Myanmar, and Laos sent videos to express their opinions.

Virasac Somphong, consul general of Laos in Nanning, said during a video that Laos and China have established comprehensive strategic cooperative partnerships and that the two countries have teamed up in the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, fully showcasing the friendship between the two countries.
