The 2020 Nanning International Elite Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was launched on Sept 10 in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

The competition is expected to invite elites from both home and abroad with global reach and outstanding innovation outcomes to carry out innovation and entrepreneurship in Nanning.

Nanning is the closet capital city to ASEAN countries in China. It has been the frontier and window for the open cooperation between China and ASEAN. 

At present, the city has been pushing forward the development of open innovation, striving to become a regional international scientific innovation center for ASEAN.

The competition was first held in 2018, attracting 163 elite teams from 28 countries and regions to compete in it, while the 2019 event set up overseas competition venues for the first time, attracting 442 high-caliber overseas elite projects.

This year's competition will cover various industries spanning electronic information manufacturing, big data, artificial intelligence, smart terminals, financial technology, machinery and equipment manufacturing, smart manufacturing, as well as biotechnology.

Projects registered to participate in this year's event after selection will compete in the finals in four categories, namely electronic information, advanced manufacturing, biomedical big health, as well as the energy materials and chemicals industry.

Two venues will be set up in Beijing and Shenzhen, Guangdong province for preliminary contests, while the finals will be held in Nanning. Venues for the promotion of the competition will also be set up in eight overseas countries including the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, Japan, and Canada, as well as five domestic cities, such as Shanghai, Hubei's Wuhan, and Sichuan's Chengdu.

Four first prizes, six second prizes, 10 third prizes, as well as 30 winning prizes will be set up for this year's event. Projects wining first prize and that settle in Nanning can receive a subsidy ranging from 500,000 yuan ($73,611.21) to 10 million yuan.

2020年中国·南宁海（境）外人才创新创业大赛启动

广西南宁市官方10日宣布启动“2020年第三届中国·南宁海（境）外人才创新创业大赛”，面向全球邀请具有国际视野和优秀创新成果的人才到南宁创新创业。

南宁是中国距离东盟最近的省会城市，是中国面向东盟开放合作的前沿和窗口。当前，南宁市正大力推进开放式创新，积极打造面向东盟的区域性国际科技创新中心。

创新创业关键在人才。中国·南宁海（境）外人才创新创业大赛由中共南宁市委人才工作领导小组主办，是引进海外人才到南宁创新创业的重要渠道。2018年首届大赛吸引了来自28个国家和地区的163支人才团队参赛；2019年大赛首次走出国门设置比赛站点，吸引442个高水平海境外人才项目参赛。

据赛事组委会介绍，本届大赛参赛项目行业涵盖电子信息制造、大数据、人工智能、智能终端、北斗应用、金融科技、机械装备制造、智能制造、新能源汽车及核心零部件制造、生物技术等领域。大赛将先后经过报名、资格审核、项目初选、预赛等环节选拔项目，分电子信息、先进制造、生物医药大健康、能源材料化工四个组别进行决赛。

本届大赛预赛设北京站、深圳站两个站点，决赛在南宁举办，全程通过“线上+线下”方式举行。赛事加强推广站点覆盖，在英国、德国、俄罗斯、以色列、日本、新加坡、泰国、加拿大等八个境外国家和中国北京、上海、深圳、武汉、成都等五个境内城市设立大赛推广站点。

今年南宁市进一步加大了对大赛全方位支持的力度，奖项设置更多，奖金数额更丰厚，项目落地专班提供全程服务。本届大赛设置一等奖4项，二等奖6项，三等奖10项，优胜奖30项，决赛基础奖金最高30000元/项。一等奖项目落地南宁的，纳入南宁市创新创业领军人才“邕江计划”，给予最低50万元、最高1000万元项目资助。
