Located in southwest Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, Napo county, Baise is the frontier of the border between Guangxi and Vietnam. It has one national second class land port, namely Pingmeng Port, and nine border trade markets in Bainan township, Nabu village, and Pochou village, making the county an important part of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Zone.
The largest industry in Napo is the silkworm industry, with a total of 113,200 mu (7,546.67 hectares) of mulberry fields being planted in the county. With the pattern of integrating planting bases, cooperatives, and impoverished households, the silkworm industry has become the main part of Napo's industrial-driven poverty alleviation efforts as the government provides seeds and fertilizer supply, technical guidance, as well as purchasing and sales.
Napo's regional GDP in 2019 is estimated to increase by 8 percent year-on-year. Last year, the county had lifted 31 poverty-stricken villages and 222,81 people out of poverty, reducing its poverty incidence to 2.33 percent.
