Founded in 1993, Guangxi Daguishan National Forest Park is one of the first batch of national forest parks established in China and the first of its kind in Guangxi. It is located at the junction of Hunan province, Guangdong province, and Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

It is 30 kilometers away from downtown Hezhou and 230 km away from Guilin. The tourist area of the park is 5,330 mu (355.33 hectares), with a forest coverage rate of 93 percent, and the negative oxygen ion content in the core area is 111,000 per cubic centimeter.

The park has a total of 1,987 species of plants. Many varieties of vines are widely distributed in the virgin forest. Liuyangding, the mountain peak in the park, is one of the best alpine platforms for viewing the sea of clouds and sunrise in South China. Clear streams and waterfalls can be seen everywhere in the Tiancao Canyon. The park is a popular place for sightseeing, summer vacations, camping, forest adventures, and tourism due to the natural integration of forests, peaks, sea of fog, rocks, waterfalls, and lakes.

The park boasts many attractions, including a unique sightseeing platform, waterfalls, chain bridges, ethnic cottages, as well as science and technology exchange centers and villas that integrate accommodation, entertainment, and business.

Yunzhan Lake offers wonderful views and is the home of the crocodile lizard, an internationally rare and protected animal. The Wumaguicao Waterfall, formed by the collection of five canyon tributaries, is the highest waterfall in eastern Guangxi at about 30 meters high. Liuyangding, the 1,208-meter viewing platform, is an excellent place for watching the sun, moon, stars, and the vast sea of clouds in South China. The beautiful flowers in the Butterfly Valley and the various plants in the Vines Kingdom are also popular with visitors.

Guangxi Daguishan National Forest Park was rated as a national 4A-level tourist attraction on Oct 9, 2019.
