In recent years, the rapid development of wind power construction and grid integration in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has bolstered its clean energy industry.
The Muge Wind Farm in Guigang, which was invested in by China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN) with a total of 1 billion yuan ($139.81 million) and started construction on July 6, 2019, has already completed and put the first-phase project into operation in March this year.
After completion, the wind farm can save 73,200 tons of standard coal for the country, reduce a large amount of harmful gas emissions like CO2 and SO2, as well as realize an annual output value of 140 million yuan.
Construction of wind power infrastructure has great significance for adjusting the energy structure, protecting the ecological environment, as well as promoting the sustainable development of the economy and society. In addition, it will have a major impact on bolstering the economy, promoting energy conservation and emission reduction, as well as advancing the use of new energy sources.
Since the beginning of this year, the construction of wind power projects in Guangxi has been advancing at full speed. It is expected that the cumulative scale of wind power grid integration in the first half of this year will reach 3.5 million kilowatts. In the first quarter of this year, Guangxi has introduced six new wind power projects, with a newly installed capacity of 503,000 kw, a year-on-year increase of 76.5 percent.
