Guangxi deepens cooperation on epidemic prevention with Vietnam (广西与越南边境四省建立运行跨境疫情防控沟通协调机制)
In order to prevent imported novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases through land borders, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has established cross-border communication and coordination mechanisms on epidemic prevention and control with four Vietnam provinces, namely Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, and He Jiang.
Guangxi has initiated the mechanisms and conducted consultations with Quang Ninh and Lang Son through telephone and border meetings on April 22 and 23.

Guangxi has informed these two Vietnam provinces of the recent results of the anti-COVID-19 epidemic efforts, as well as proposed specific measures for restricting personnel exchanges, strengthening customs clearance, and maintaining normal customs clearance of goods.
Quang Ninh and Lang Son also notified Guangxi on Vietnam's domestic COVID-19 epidemic prevention situation, positively evaluating the important achievements and successful experiences of anti-COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control efforts in Guangxi. The two provinces both expressed that they will work together with Guangxi to strengthen joint prevention and control of border areas, as well as promote economic and social development in border areas.
The coordination mechanism for COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control is led by the foreign affairs departments of both countries, and consists of several bureaus, including public security, commerce, health, border defense forces, customs, border, and defense inspections.
In the future, regular actions on effectively implementing various anti-epidemic measures will be carried out to minimize the risk of cross-border spread of the COVID-19 epidemic, as well as consolidate the results of epidemic prevention and control.
