The Guangxi Culture and Tourism Department has recently issued 10 measures to boost the cultural and tourism sector, helping cultural and tourism enterprises overcome difficulties caused by the novel coronavirus epidemic.

Guangxi will implement a policy of temporarily waiving 80 percent of the tourism service quality deposit to help travel agencies cope with operational difficulties. In addition, online training and offline services will be strengthened, while the resumption and production of cultural tourism enterprises will be guided.

After the epidemic is resolved, Guangxi will strengthen the development of tourism routes and tourism products, support a variety of cultural tourism promotion activities in various places, as well as subsidize promotional enterprises participating in the unified organization of the region.

The region will attract tourists through promotions and discount policies, such as ticket discounts on transportation and entry to attractions. It will support the free opening of public resource scenic spots, encourage the implementation of free open days for tourist attractions, as well as introduce preferential measures like travel cards and electronic consumer vouchers.

Guangxi will develop its nighttime cultural tourism economy, encouraging cultural tourism service facilities and scenic spots in urban areas to extend their business hours, as well as carry out special services such as nighttime tours. Museums, cultural centers, libraries, art galleries, theaters, concert halls, and other cultural venues are also encouraged to extend their opening hours appropriately.

Guangxi will accelerate the development of its health tourism industry, and make great efforts to promote the upgrade of green consumption. Cultural tourism enterprises are encouraged to take advantage of ecological resources and adapt to local conditions to develop various types of healthy tourism products.

In addition, enterprises involved in rural tourism, such as farmhouses, will be supported to carry out various forms of marketing and promotion activities after the epidemic is resolved.
