Guangxi promotes China-ASEAN transportation development

Beibu Gulf Shipping Exchange Co Ltd was set up in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Dec 25 to further coordinate transport resources between China and ASEAN countries, laying key foundation for the establishment of the Beibu Gulf Shipping Exchange.
As the main sponsor, China-ASEAN Information Port Co Ltd is responsible for the business operations of Beibu Gulf Shipping Exchange Co Ltd, including the construction of platforms for shipping government affairs information services, shipping element trading services, shipping information and big data services, as well as multimodal transport supply chain services.
Wei Ran, deputy director of the office for the planning and construction of the Beibu Gulf economic zone, said at the opening ceremony that the establishment of Beibu Gulf Shipping Exchange Co Ltd will promote the transformation and upgrading of the traditional shipping service industry, make overall use of sea and land transportation resources between China and ASEAN, promote the reduction of integrated logistics costs, as well as enhance the international influence of Beibu Gulf Port.

Wei Yongqiu, deputy director of the Guangxi Transport Department, noted that accelerating the development of the port and shipping industry, as well as building a platform for the deep integration of shipping, logistics, and trade will help enhance Beibu Gulf Port's position as a shipping hub in the ASEAN countries and regions along the Belt and Road.
Lu Dongliang, president of China-ASEAN Information Harbor Co Ltd, stressed that the company will improve the professional level and service capabilities of Beibu Gulf Shipping Trading Co Ltd through the internet and big data technology, making it a new business calling card to showcase the results of the construction of the western Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
