Guangxi's foreign trade enjoys sustained growth
In the first 11 months of 2019, Guangxi's total foreign trade value was 426.02 billion yuan ($60.75 billion), an increase of 12.9 percent. Among them, exports amounted to 235.96 billion yuan, an increase of 19.7 percent, while imports were 190.06 billion yuan, an increase of 5.5 percent.
During this period, the import and export volume to countries along the Belt and Road were 232.31 billion yuan, an increase of 13.2 percent. Imports and exports to ASEAN countries were 212.85 billion yuan, an increase of 13.1 percent. In particular, the total trade value to Thailand was 29.7 billion yuan, an increase of 2.4 times. In addition, imports and exports to Hong Kong and the EU were 49.14 billion yuan and 20.54 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 37.1 percent and 47 percent.
General trade imports and exports were 153.31 billion yuan, an increase of 18.6 percent, accounting for 36 percent of the total value of Guangxi's foreign trade. The import and export of bonded logistics reached 64.62 billion yuan, an increase of 2.7 times, accounting for 15.2 percent of the total.
The imports and exports of private enterprises was 272.2 billion yuan, an increase of 49.3 percent, accounting for 63.9 percent of the total foreign trade value, while the imports and exports of State-owned enterprises was 47.76 billion yuan, an increase of 1.3 percent.
Mechanical and electrical products accounted for more than half of the export commodities, with exports amounting to 118.39 billion yuan, an increase of 34.3 percent, accounting for 50.2 percent of the total foreign trade volume. The imports of mechanical and electrical products, high-tech products, and fruits were 61.68 billion yuan, 44.25 billion yuan, and 7.87 billion yuan respectively, increasing by 32.5 percent, 65.6 percent, and 35.4 percent.
