As of the end of November, the Nanning area of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone has introduced more than 1,300 new enterprises since its establishment in August this year.
According to the plan announced by the State Council, the Nanning area will focus on the development of modern services, such as modern finance, smart logistics, digital economy, and cultural media. It will also vigorously develop emerging manufacturing industries, as well as establish a financial opening gateway to ASEAN and an important node of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
At present, the construction of the China-ASEAN Financial City, the financial opening gateway to ASEAN, has been fully accelerated as a number of banks and insurance institutions have settled in it. In addition, the Nanning base of the China-ASEAN Information Harbor has introduced nearly 60 projects, with a planning investment of 42.2 billion yuan ($6.02 billion) as of November.
More than 20 enterprises like iFLYTEK and Huawei have gathered in the China-ASEAN New Smart City Innovation Center, while more than 20 companies have settled in the Guangxi Digital Economy Demonstration Base, including Digital Guangxi Headquarters and China-ASEAN (Huawei) Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center. Six service centers in the China-ASEAN inspection and certification high-tech service cluster were also completed and opened to the public.
Since its inauguration on August 30 this year, the Nanning area of the Guangxi FTZ has adhered to high-standard construction and high-quality development standards. The number of new companies in the Nanning area has exceeded 1,300, of which 12 are foreign-invested companies and three are among the world's top 500 companies.
