The Guangxi Chongzuo-Shuikou Expressway in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region was completed and opened to traffic on Dec 9, further strengthening the interconnection between Guangxi and ASEAN countries.

The starting point of the Chongzuo-Shuikou Expressway is located in Tingliang township, Ningming county and is connected to the Nanning-Youyiguan Expressway and the Chongzuo-Jingxi Expressway, passing through Jiangzhou district of Chongzuo, Ningming county, and Longzhou county. The end point is located at Longzhou Shuikou Port, which is connected to the planned urban roads of Longzhou county and the Jiehe Second Bridge connecting China and Vietnam.

Shuikou Port is a national first-class port in China. It is of importance to Guangxi's foreign port economy and trade, as well as a significant channel for China to enter Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries.

The opening of the Chongzuo-Shuikou Expressway will effectively promote the development of large ports, logistics, and industries in the Guangxi Free Trade Zone, as well as comprehensively improve the level of opening-up in the border area of Guangxi.

Qin Kun, Party secretary of Longzhou county, noted that the expressway will further help Longzhou county in its poverty alleviation efforts, as well as promote the development of its border trade and port economy.

On Dec 19, 2018, the Jingxi-Longbang Expressway, an important channel on the Guangxi border, was opened to traffic and the Fangchenggang-Dongxing Expressway was officially put into operation on May 10, 2019. In addition to the opening of the Chongzuo-Shuikou Expressway, Guangxi has basically completed the highway network to the main border ports.
