The agricultural products smart trading center of Jiangnan in the Chongzuo area of the China (Guangxi) Free Trade Zone started construction in Pingxiang Logistics Park on Dec 6.

The smart trading center is committed to establishing an international and modern import and export trading platform of agricultural products integrating the functions of trading, e-commerce, cold chain, logistics, warehousing, testing, customs, finance, and commerce.

The trading center is invested in by Guangzhou Jiangnan Agricultural Development Co, a leading enterprise in the field of agricultural products circulation, with a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan ($213.17 million).

Wu Xiaohui, mayor of Pingxiang, said at the construction commencement ceremony that the smart trading center is of great significance to promote the import and export of agricultural products in China, as well as for the economic growth of the port. It will effectively solve the problem of labor employment in the surrounding areas, as well as accelerate the high-quality economic and social development of Pingxiang.

The project marks the official opening of a new era of port circulation of agricultural products in China.
