A total of 240 international students from 20 countries and regions studying at Guangxi universities and colleges participated in the 2019 Chinese Cultural Camp for International Students in Guangxi, a 10-day Chinese cultural experience tour that opened on Nov 29.

Held by the United Front Work Department of the CPC Guangxi Committee and undertaken by International College of Guangxi University, the camp aims to enhance overseas youth's understanding of Guangxi's social economy and culture, as well as further establish a platform for communication between Guangxi and overseas youth.

Since it was first held in 2016, international students participating in the project have improved their understanding of China's history, culture, and progress, as well as witnessed the achievements of Guangxi's sustainable development.

Chen Jie, deputy minister of the United Front Work Department, expressed her hope that the campers can strengthen exchanges and friendship, as well as strive to become envoys of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.

Zha Danming, deputy secretary of the Party committee of Guangxi University, briefly introduced the local customs of Guangxi, as well as the construction and development of Guangxi University. Guangxi University is one of the first 66 universities in China to recruit international students, and it is also the largest comprehensive university in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

Zha also stressed that Guangxi University will take this event as an opportunity to better cultivate international students as talents, as well as to promote exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries in the world.
