Guangxi has focused on strengthening cooperation in institutional mechanisms, infrastructure, industrial development, platform construction, and ecological environment protection to accelerate the high-quality development of the Pearl River-Xijiang River Economic Belt.

The Pearl River-Xijiang River Economic Belt is the strategic hinterland of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and an important channel for the industrial transfer for the Greater Bay Area to the western region.

Since the Development Plan of the Pearl River-Xijiang River Economic Belt was approved in July 2014, the cooperation mechanism and policy system between Guangdong and Guangxi have gradually improved. A joint conference system for the implementation of the plan, as well as the urban community and the mayor conference mechanism were established, with a number of supporting policies being issued.

With well-developed transportation networks and facilities, Guangxi and Guangdong are closely connected. At present, Guangxi has opened a total of 132 pairs of EMU trains to Guangdong, completed six of the 18 planned expressways between the two, as well as operated ships to sail directly from its capital city of Nanning to Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.

In addition, industrial cooperation along the economic belt has been strengthened, such as the establishment of the Guangdong-Guangxi Interprovincial Pilot Cooperation Special Zone and the Shenzhen-Bama Big Health Special Cooperation Pilot Zone. Environmental protection joint prevention and control efforts have been enhanced, making Xijiang River Basin the first large watershed in China to establish a coordinated mechanism for water pollution prevention and control.

In the future, Guangxi will deepen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of ecological environmental protection, scientific and technological innovation, cultural tourism, health, as well as education, developing the Pearl River-Xijiang River Economic Belt into a new hub of economic growth.

目前广西正加快珠江—西江经济带高质量发展，重点在体制机制、基础设施、产业发展、平台建设、生态环境保护等方面加强合作，助推广西全面对接粤港澳大湾区。

珠江—西江经济带是粤港澳大湾区的战略腹地，是粤港澳大湾区产业向西部地区转移的重要通道。

2014年7月国家批复实施《珠江—西江经济带发展规划》以来，粤桂两省区合作机制和政策体系逐渐完善，建立了珠江—西江经济带发展规划实施联席会议制度、西江经济带城市共同体及市长联席会议机制，出台了多项政策文件。

基础设施互联互通方面，两广间动车组列车达132对，船舶可从南宁直航粤港澳，规划连接两广的18条高速公路已建成6条。

沿江产业带加快形成，逐步建立起粤桂合作特别试验区、深圳巴马大健康合作特别试验区等重点平台。与此同时，区域内环保联防联控不断增强，西江流域成为中国首个建成水污染防治联动协作机制的大流域。

下一步广西还将继续深化生态环保、科技创新、文化旅游、大健康、教育卫生等领域交流合作，把珠江一西江经济带打造成新的经济增长极。
