The 2019 Kuantan Day, a Qinzhou-Kuantan Friendly Exchanges activity, kicked off in Qinzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Nov 13, showcasing cultural performances of both cities.

Qinzhou and Kuantan are the venues for China and Malaysia to jointly promote the "two countries, two industrial parks" strategy, namely the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park and the Malaysia-China Kuandan Industrial Park, to build a flagship project and cooperation demonstration zone.

Qinzhou forged sister city relations with Kuantan and began carrying out exchange activities in 2016. The two cities hold Kuantan Day and Qinzhou Day in turn every year to further enrich and improve the all-round multi-level exchanges and cooperation of the industrial parks, ports, and cities.

During the four-day Kuantan Day this year, more than 60 government officials, performers, youth representatives, and entrepreneurs of Pohang state and Kuantan of Malasia will visit Qinzhou and carry out activities like art performances, youth exchanges, sports competitions, as well as trade and business exchanges.

Tan Pichuang, mayor of Qinzhou, expressed his hope that based on the exchanges of the Kuantan Day event, as well as the opportunities of the Land-Sea Trade Corridor and the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the two cities can carry out exchanges and cooperation in all fields, working together to promote better and faster development of the two industrial parks.
