The 2019 exchange event of the Association of Sino-Russia Art Universities was held at Guangxi Arts University, drawing representatives from 10 universities in China and Russia to Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region to promote art exchanges.

The event was sponsored by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education (MOE), and was undertaken by the Association of Sino-Russian Art Universities and Guangxi Art University.

Li Hai, deputy director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of MOE, expressed his hope that China and Russia will further strengthen cultural exchanges, educational cooperation, and artistic exchanges.

The universities of the two countries jointly held activities, such as live drawing sessions, art exhibitions, music exchange performances, master classes of fine arts and music, as well as academic seminars, with Chinese and Russian artists exchanging ideas and exploring teaching experiences. The close exposure to Russian arts has stimulated the learning motivation of teachers and students, expanding their international vision, as well as promoting the development of disciplines. The aesthetic styles, as well as the artistic achievements of different regions and ethnic groups in China and Russia were also presented during the event.

Zheng Junli, president of Guangxi Art University, said that the activities not only established a platform for exchanges and mutual learning between China and Russia, but also provided a solid opportunity to enhance understanding and friendship between the two countries.
