China, ASEAN promote e-commerce cooperation

The 2019 China-ASEAN E-commerce Forum was held by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in Nanning on Sept 22, with more than 800 representatives from China's leading e-commerce companies and enterprises of ASEAN countries.
With the aim of deepening economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN in the internet field, sharing new opportunities for the development of the digital economy, as well as building an e-commerce ecosystem with cross-border interconnection and innovation in China and ASEAN countries, the forum brought together experts, scholars, and industry elites in the field of e-commerce field to conduct speeches and dialogues in the two major issues of cross-border e-commerce and rural e-commerce development.
Focusing on the latest trends in the development of the internet and e-commerce in Guangxi, the forum explored the new trends, new models, and new formats of cross-border e-commerce and rural e-commerce development in the 5G era, as well as new paths for China-ASEAN e-commerce development, to promote cooperation between e-commerce companies in China and ASEAN countries.
A special exhibition was also carried out, displaying about 50,000 cross-border e-commerce products. In addition, an investment promotion meeting was held, inviting domestic cross-border e-commerce pilot zones, well-known e-commerce enterprises, payment enterprises, and logistics enterprises to strengthen cooperation.
The forum has been held sixth times as a high-level forum for e-commerce during the China-ASEAN Expo. Previous forums have led to the development of more than 20 e-commerce projects in Guangxi. This year's forum is expected to bring more opportunities for China-ASEAN internet and e-commerce cooperation, as well as further promote the development of the China-ASEAN e-commerce industry.
