Intl standardization forum raises concern
The China-ASEAN International Standardization Forum will be held in Nanning on Sept 23 by the State Administration for Market Regulation, the Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China, and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The forum aims to provide a platform for government officials, business representatives, and academics of China and ASEAN countries to strengthen standardization cooperation, improve the international standardization level, and create a good business environment, as well as deepen understanding of China and ASEAN companies to seek development and cooperation.
A high-level forum and a seminar on international standardization will be held. Experts, scholars, and representatives of well-known enterprises from China and ASEAN countries will conduct discussions, give speeches, and take part in exchanges on the function of standardization in fields like the construction of the western Land-Sea Trade Corridor, financial cooperation, advanced technology, service trade, and smart cities.
To date, the principles of international organizations such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) have confirmed their attendance at the forum. Cambodia and Myanmar have confirmed that deputy ministerial officials will attend, while senior officials of the national standardization authorities of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore will also present.
The forum will further enhance Guangxi's standardization capabilities, as well as enhance Guangxi's creativity, competitiveness, and influence.
