CAEXPO promotes bilateral financial cooperation
The China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) has achieved remarkable results in serving financial cooperation between China and ASEAN countries since it has been held, by holding a set of activities, such as financial service exhibitions, the China-ASEAN Summit Forum on Financial Cooperation and Development, as well as the China-ASEAN Summit Forum on Insurance Cooperation and Development.
The 6th CAEXPO opened its first financial service exhibition in 2009 and held the first China-ASEAN Summit Forum on Financial Cooperation and Development. The forum has been successfully held for 10 sessions since. More than 3,500 financial leaders and corporate elites from China, ASEAN countries, Europe, the United States, and other countries and regions, as well as more than 1,000 organizations have discussed more than 30 topics and signed a series of cooperation agreements.
According to Wang Lei, secretary-general of the Secretariat of CAEXPO, this year's CAEXPO will continue to set up a financial service exhibition area, focusing on guiding financial institutions to display financial services for ASEAN countries, such as cross-border financing, cross-border settlement, technology finance, and internet finance.
To date, domestic financial institutions like Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, China Construction Bank, and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), as well as foreign financial institutions like HSBC (China) and Singapore DBS Bank have confirmed their participation.
The 11th China-ASEAN Summit Forum on Financial Cooperation and Development,the China-ASEAN Summit Forum on Insurance Cooperation and Development, as well as a signing ceremony of financial cooperation will also be held at this year's CAEXPO, which will be held from Sept 21 to 24 in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
