Commercial port Wuzhou makes full access to Bay Area

Wuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region is focusing on comprehensive linkups with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in the aspects of planning, concept, transportation, industry, ecology, and talents.
Li Jieyun, mayor of Wuzhou, introduced the economic and social development of Wuzhou at a press conference held on Sept 4 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China.
Focused on connectivity to Guangdong province, Wuzhou has built a new pattern of multimodal transport, spanning railways, highways, water conservancy, and aviation. The high-speed railway in Wuzhou has fully integrated into the two-and-a-half-hour economic circle of cities in the Greater Bay Area. In January, the new airport of Wuzhou was opened, serving as an important regional airport in eastern Guangxi and western Guangdong.
Wuzhou also participates in the industrial division of the Greater Bay Area, vigorously undertaking the transfer of eastern industries, and accelerating the establishment of a national-level industrial transfer demonstration zone. The city has built a Guangdong-Guangxi cooperation special pilot zone with Zhaoqing. It has also introduced 21 ceramic enterprises and 10 supporting enterprises from Foshan to further develop Tengxian Ceramic Industrial Park.
To date, Wuzhou has signed strategic cooperation framework agreements with Guangdong cities, such as Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhaoqing, Yunfu, and Maoming. It has also carried out pragmatic cooperation in areas like transportation intercommunication, industrial cooperation, and environmental co-governance. In addition, the city has introduced more than 300 talents from Greater Bay Area cities, as well as built 13 talent cultivation and cooperative development platforms.
