A press conference on the 2019 China-ASEAN International Touring Assembly (CAITA) and the China-ASEAN Journalist Rally was held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Aug 20, announcing that the exciting competition will start again on Sept 9.

CAITA has been successfully held for 12 sessions since it was established in 2006. With a theme of "promoting construction of the Land-Sea Trade Corridor, seeking development of the Belt and Road," this year's competition will last 20 days from Sept 9 to 28.

The event is co-sponsored by the State General Administration of Sports of China, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional People's Government, and the ASEAN Secretariat. It was undertaken by 19 units, including the Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Management Center of the State General Administration of Sports of China and the Guangxi Sports Bureau.

This year's CAITA will set a competition route around the Western Land-Sea Trade Corridor, and add road courses along the border for the first time. The racing teams will depart from Nanning and pass through Qinzhou, Fangchenggang, and Jingxi. They will leave China through Pingxiang Youyi Port and go through Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. Spanning nearly 5,000 kilometers, the competition will be organized in eight rally races, five pace races, and four field races.

The teams will also carry out sports, culture, tourism, commerce, and other activities in ASEAN countries along the way, such as promoting Guangxi products and tourism resources in ASEAN countries to further strengthen communication with ASEAN countries and regions.
