Yangon team takes gold at China-ASEAN tennis tournament

The team from Yangon, Burma was crowned champion at the 2019 Tennis Tournament of China-ASEAN Cities, which concluded in Fangchenggang, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Aug 18. Nanning and Fangchenggang followed suit at second and third.

A total of 204 tennis players competed in 15 teams representing Bangkok, capital of Thailand, Hanoi, capital of Vietnam, as well as Chinese cities such as Dalian, Xi'an, Maoming, and Liuzhou during the two and a half day tournament.

The mixed team event consisted of five matches, including men's double A, B, and C, women's doubles, and mixed doubles. It was hosted by the Chinese Tennis Association, Department of Sport of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Fangchenggang municipal people's government to promote sports exchanges with ASEAN countries.
