Guangxi's GDP increases by 5.9% in H1

According to a report released by the Statistics Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Guangxi investigation team of the National Bureau of Statistics on July 30, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Guangxi in the first half of 2019 was 890.69 billion yuan ($129.4 billion), a year-on-year increase of 5.9 percent.

The added value of the primary industry, secondary industry, and tertiary industry has increased by 5.4 percent, 4.7 percent, and 7 percent respectively. From January to May, the operating income of service enterprises above designated size increased by 9 percent year-on-year. Among them, the software and information technology service industry, the leasing industry, the business service industry, as well as the entertainment industry enjoyed substantial growth.

In the first half of the year, fixed asset investment, excluding rural households, increased by 8.6 percent year-on-year, and the growth accelerated for three consecutive months. Investment in the high-tech industry increased by 11.8 percent year-on-year, and investment in the high-tech manufacturing industry increased by 19.2 percent.

Investment in real estate development in Guangxi was 173.83 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.1 percent. The sales area of commercial housing was 28.85 million square meters, an increase of 6.1 percent year-on-year and the sales of commercial housing reached 184.82 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.5 percent.

In the first half of the year, the total import and export volume of Guangxi was 226.95 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.8 percent. Exports reached 130.67 billion yuan, up 46.3 percent, and imports were 96.27 billion yuan, up 4.1 percent. The bilateral trade volumes with ASEAN countries, the United States, and the EU were 109.58 billion yuan, 12.36 billion yuan, and 13.74 billion yuan, an increase of 12.4 percent, 22.2 percent, and 135 percent respectively.

Guangxi's fiscal revenue was 160.93 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.3 percent. Among this, the general public budget revenue was 94.46 billion yuan, an increase of 6.4 percent. The general public budget expenditure was 296.86 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.2 percent.

In the first half of the year, the per capita disposable income of residents in Guangxi was 11,636 yuan, an increase of 8.6 percent year-on-year. The per capita disposable income of urban residents was 17,118 yuan, an actual increase of 4.6 percent. The per capita disposable income of rural residents was 7,065 yuan, an actual increase of 6.9 percent.
