The second China International Import Expo (CIIE) held an investment promotion road show in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on June 11. This is the first time that the CIIE has carried out business invitation event in Southwest China. It was targeted mainly at buyers in the food and agricultural products industries.

The 2nd CIIE has a planned area of 300,000 square meters. The food and agricultural products exhibition area includes dairy products, meat, aquatic products and frozen foods, fruits and vegetables, agricultural products, snack foods, condiments, beverages and alcohol, integrated food, and other subdivisions.

The road show was co-sponsored by the China International Import and Export Expo Bureau and the Department of Commerce of Guangxi. About 160 people participated, including associations and enterprises representatives of food and agricultural product industries, representatives of CIIE exhibitors, central media representatives in Guangxi, and local media representatives.

Sun Chenghai, deputy director of the China International Import Expo Bureau, attended the conference and said that Guangxi has a special location with great economic potential. He hoped that Guangxi will actively organize domestic and foreign buyers to participate in the CIIE and Guangxi purchasing enterprises will make good use of the platform to expand the network from the ASEAN to the world.

Liang Yiguang, deputy director of the Department of Commerce of Guangxi, said he looks forward to the 2nd CIIE at the conference, and urged Guangxi enterprises to implement the contract orders signed at the first CIIE to ensure the effectiveness of the exhibition and make good preparations for online registration and participation in the 2nd CIIE.

Next, the CIIE will continue to hold investment promotion road shows in various cities. By strengthening cooperation with local business departments, industry associations, and media, the focus will be on private enterprises and SMEs to increase the CIIE's influence.
