Nanning, Liuzhou among cities with most potential

Nanning and Liuzhou of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region were rated among the top 100 Chinese cities in terms of development potential in 2019, according to a report recently released by domestically renowned think tank Evergrande Research Institute.

A team led by Ren Zeping, a post-doctorate of Tsinghua University and chief economist of Evergrande Group, ranked 336 domestic cities nationwide based on 5,000 data pieces across 17 indexes such as population, purchasing power, housing supply, and market.

Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Nanjing, Wuhan, Chongqing, Tianjin, and Hangzhou were the 10 Chinese cities with the most growth potential. Nanning and Liuzhou were rated 40th and 98th respectively in the ranking.

According to the report, the top 100 cities on the list, which occupy 13 percent of the country's land and is home to 50 percent of the population, has produced 73 percent of the GDP and accounted for 62 percent of commercial residential building sales volume.
