The design for this year's medal was inspired by the white dolphin, as the Sanniang Gulf of Qinzhou is considered the "home of the Chinese white dolphin".

Founded in 2017, the Qinzhou International Half Marathon is a part of the Health China Marathon Series, and is aimed at promoting fitness for all, said Pan Dingxi, deputy secretary-general of the Qinzhou Municipal People's Government.
