The upgraded dome cinema of the Guangxi Science and Technology Museum, the only one of its kind in China aside from that in China Science and Technology Museum to feature an 8K laser digital projection system, recently opened to the public.

The cinema has an 18-meter hemispherical screen that encircles the audience. It can show celestial bodies, astronomical phenomena and digital starry skies with high-resolution full-color images projected through a fish-eye lens.

According to an executive of the museum, the dome cinema distinguishes itself from traditional cinemas with a naked-eye 3D effect. The bewitching visual impact, supplemented by stereo surround sound, creates a lifelike and interactive experience, making audiences feel as if they can touch the objects on screen.
